NLNZ Twitter

I approached this with interest but it wasn't very interesting. Seemed to be just people downloading their brains in bytes of 140 characters or less.

Wisconsin Heritage Wiki

Rather puzzled by this. It won't let me into the Wiki and the hint about the link to collections doesn't work out because there is no link to collections.

Re wikis in general, I think that Wikipedia is brilliant but they are being overused by people creating them just because they can. The SLQ wiki seems to be in this category, although if it had focus and more structure it could be useful perhaps.

I wonder, though, about the usefulness of splintering information between websites and catalogues and blogs and wikis and other social networking sites. It seems to be just people playing around with the medium without a clear idea about what they're trying to achieve. I can see analogies with what happened in the 1980s and the 1990s. People fell in love with new technologies and forgot for a while that content is what really matters.
